This type of reader would get a block from me. Way more likely to make me simply unable to write on that story until I can get the horrible feels they gave me about it out of my head (sometimes that's never!)

Not only don't I need this kind of person, I actively don't want them. They do NOTHING but damage my ability to write.

By all means tell me how excited you are when I update. But getting impatient about it fucking sucks.

I have a Patreon where I post my stuff, and sometimes I find myself going "Sorry y'all life is being a lot right now, update will be a bit late" and invariably I get replies along the lines of "Don't worry about it, take your time."

this is a quick way to ensure that story never gets updated and youre blocked from their account fanworks are a gift fics posted online and shared are gifts acting like fic writers live off readers validation like there arent a million stories people choose to never share because its a HOBBY you can tell this person doesnt contribute anything of their own. no person who writes or draws or edits or organises or anything would act like such a brat
